Our last wedding 2013 brought us to the little castle Steverburg for Laura and Alexander who chose that place as their wedding location. It was a cold October day and these two choose to see each other at the altar for the first time that day. After the romantic ceremony and the little reception at the church we took some time for their portraits just right before the rain started who didn't stop until the next morning.

Olga contacted me one week before her wedding with the words that she is afraid her wedding was jinxed. A family member was lying in hospital and their wedding photographer just cancelled because of a family issue. We met up the day after and we immediately had a click. Though I couldn't refer a vendor to her she already had booked some of the vendors I would have told her. We had a lovely afternoon in our little studio and when she left she said "You know some things happen for a reason I now know you have meant to be our photographer and I couldn't be happier about it". Well that is something I really really like to hear :-)

In 2012 I got a wedding inquiry from Tobi and Swantje saying they were referred by Jenny. I was pleasantly surprised as I haven't seen or spoken to Jenny since 2004 when we graduated from High School. Two months later on their wedding I met Jenny again and she introduced me to her boyfriend (back then) Martin. At the end of the evening Martin came to me and told me "Once when Jenny and I get married you will be our photogrpaher too" And so I was again pleasantly surprised when Jenny wrote me that she got engaged to Martin and they wanted me and Conrad to capture it.

Last September we went back to Holland to photograph the beautiful wedding of Hanna and Bastian. The wedding was organized and styled by two of our favorite wedding planners Marie-Jose and Ingrid from Eindeloos Events. The wedding colors were yellow and blue and so were all the flowers and decoration for the day. Even Hanna's shoes were blue. Hanna and Bastian met at their home as they lived as flatmates in the same apartment in Rotterdam. They were lucky to have their family and friends from Holland, China and Germany over for their special day.

This is just a little reminder post. I think it is so exciting that one of my images has been nominated again for the BFA this year and being the only German who is nominated I truly need every single vote for my image. Kristina and Sven are the sweetest couple and friends of our Anke and Maik whoms wedding we photographed back in 2011. I loved being back to Südlohn to photograph a wedding and meeting people again that I met two years ago. Kristina and Sven started their day at her parents home to see each other for the first time and exchange the gifts they had prepared for each other.
