2013 a review
I just blinked for a second and it was 2014. Incredible how fast 2013 past by.
This year had been the first year since 10 years that we lived close to our families. We arrived back at home and felt incredibly blessed to have so wonderful people here around us. 2013 has been a travelling year. We travelled to different places to photograph weddings and meet fantastic couples and at the same time we met wonderful couples here locally and photographed their weddings and slept in our own bed after a wedding. The combination of both made me really happy this summer.
Where 2012 was the year of saying good bye and making new friends 2013 was the year of arriving home and travelling at the same time.
So here it goes again my top 10 2013
So here is my top 10 experience list of 2013
Most challenging & Most exciting thing I did in 2013
I think the biggest challenge and at the same time the most exciting thing of 2013 was working together as a couple. Finding a way to work each day together and still keeping a personal life without talking about the business. The excitement of travelling to the weddings, meetings so many wonderful people and finally having someone to share it with full time was such a great experience.
Best discovery in 2013
Green juice – without a question. I am addicted and feel so much healthier since I started juicing.
Biggest inspiration in 2013
There are different inspiration sources this year:
Mario Testino – Diana Princess of Wales by Mario Testino at Kensington Palace (a gift to myself)
Vanity Fair – my monthly addiction since I have a subscription (Yes ! )
Annie Leibowitz at work (a birthday gift from one lovely friend)
Best book I read in 2013
Martin Suter – Der Koch
Randy Pausch – The last lecture
Most emotional moment in 2013
Well my brother got married and one of my best friends got married too this summer – that is as much emotion as I can bear for one wedding season.
New technology in 2013
I finally got an iPad and I am addicted (also to Candy Crush Saga I have to admit…:-( )
Biggest laugh in 2013
Keeping it short there a several small people in my life at the moment that make me laugh almost every week. How wonderful they make up their truth and how much wisdom you find in a 4 year old girl amazes me and makes me laugh again and again.
I am grateful for
I am very grateful 2013 for the life I am living. Being close to my family, living and working with the love of my life and very simple things like the local food market here in our village where we go and just enjoy buying good food on a Friday afternoon and ending the week with a beer or wine in the local cafe in the centre of the village. Next to that I am grateful for my friends close by and far away – I feel we are being closer to each other than ever before.
Best food I had in 2013
This might be boring but it is the same like last year : Without a doubt that was at Puerto Mogan on the island Gran Canaria at a little Italian restaurant called N’Enoteca We went back to the island this year and one of the reasons was this restaurant… as crazy as it sounds it is the truth.
Keep an eye on the blog the top 10 images that defined 2013 will come soon.
